Here at Weather Master, for three years in a row now, our Valentine’s Charity Event has been a big hit.
This year we raised $1,374 for the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the ASPCA! Our generous employees always come together to give with us, and so we exceeded our goal!
Why did we choose these three charities? Because they span such a wide range of heroes and friends in need: veterans, children, and even pets!
As for the reasons we chose these nonprofit organizations in particular …
We believe that the Wounded Warrior Project is uniquely equipped to give our veterans the support, both physical and mental, that they might otherwise be lacking. Veterans are provided with all sorts of resources: from counseling, to regaining independence and the ability to live by themselves, to connecting with groups of other veterans who share their experiences.
St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which actually represents 24 different hospitals in 17 countries around the world, is the only large-scale network of children’s hospitals that is able to provide free cancer care for children and their families who otherwise could not afford it. Families will never receive a bill from St. Jude, and that is only possible due to fundraising from hundreds of individuals and companies just like Weather Master!
The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is not only the first but the largest Humane Society in the world. Every year they treat over 12,000 injured animals here in the U.S., and help almost 4,000 animals get adopted.
We are honored and overjoyed to be able to participate in these important fundraising efforts. We would like to thank our employees again for their donations, and for celebrating Valentine’s Day with an outpouring of love.
